Among the many evolutions and revolutions of liberal education taking place in the current era of globalization, one occurrence stands out as particularly ironic. At the same time that the United States seems to be depreciating the uniquely American tradition of liberal arts learning in higher education, other parts of the world are starting to appreciate it.
