Strong communication skills are critical for succeeding in all justice-related professions. Communication skills may be particularly relevant for obtaining promotions and opening up new job opportunities. Bad writing, for example, is likely to be judged harshly and can limit advancement. Employers, colleagues, and clients all benefit from oral and written communication that is thoughtful, clear, and concise. Strengthening communication skills is a life-long endeavor. Even professors and professional writers/public speakers put a great deal of effort into these forms of communication. It is hard work!
