Biomechanical and motor performance differences between female and male soccer players

ABSTRACT

Women’s soccer has become increasingly popular in recent years. The international soccer association FIFA reported a 37% increase in female soccer players from 21.9 million in the year 2000 to 30 million in 2014 (FIFA, 2007, 2015). Nevertheless, previous research mostly addressed men’s soccer with little consideration of gender issues.
