ABSTRACT
There are numerous neurological disorders that have an onset in infancy and early childhood, and which can derail normal developmental processes. In this chapter we focus on conditions that impact the central nervous system and brain, including epilepsy, stroke and genetic disorders (metabolic and neuromuscular). The effects of childhood traumatic brain injury (TBI) are covered in Chapter 8.
