ABSTRACT
Traditionally, men and boys have been regarded to be more aggressive than women and girls. This is supported by the fact that in most animal species, males are more aggressive than females. There are, however, exceptions to this rule: for example, female lemurs (Kappeler, 1990) and spotted hyenas (Goymann, East, & Hofer, 2001) are more aggressive than their male counterparts.
