ABSTRACT
Environment, health and the economy top the list of issues important to people across the world. Political leadership on these issues and government policies are influenced by multiple and interacting factors. Environmental issues are drawing increased attention from nation states, transnational corporations, international institutions and other actors, which compete for influence over agenda-setting and policy implementation in this vital area. It is therefore difficult to reveal a clear path of successful influence that determines final decisions.
