The Spanish System of Funding Religious Heritage

Spanish heritage is one of the great treasures of the country. The history of Spain and the blend of cultures that has occurred in its territory, among other factors, have contributed to the development of a rich heritage across the length and breadth of the country. Catholic cultural heritage constitutes, by far, the biggest part: it comprises almost 75 per cent of all Spanish cultural and historical heritage sites and embodies an important contribution to the configuration of the Spanish identity.
