ABSTRACT
Amidst urbanization challenges in Southeast Asia, there are other narratives on urban dynamics and futures from the grassroots that differ from official policies. Although unevenly distributed, several cities in Southeast Asia have become sites of political reforms that have opened spaces for the civil society to participate in public decision-making.
