ABSTRACT
An opening frame. The fundamental difference between ‘design as politics’ and ‘design and politics’ is essentially that the former does not assume or accept institutionalized politics, or political science, as a given and authoritative designator of ‘the political’. Neither does it accept that design becomes/is political by engaging with, or subordinating itself to, the service of political institutions or causes.
