ABSTRACT
The POE of the Department of Land scape Architecture at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) revealed a range o f responses to the design, with notable differences be tween faculty members and students. The newer wing, constructed in 1992 and 1998, contained the most successful areas in the school, due to an abun dance of natural light and spaciousness. Problems were identified with other areas of the building, such as poor ventilation and inadequate storage space, which may become worse with projected increases in student numbers. Fac ulty and students described the least successful spaces in the building as cramped, stuffy, or having conflicting uses. Due to the inadequate space, possible growing student enrollments, and demand for studios and larger classrooms, the department will likely need more space in the near future. Thus, the results of this POE may prove useful.
