ABSTRACT
Large universities are complex institutions that sometimes struggle to manage competing expectations and interests. This struggle is often apparent through the management of competitive athletics. In this case, we can see how the university struggles to balance academic vs. athletic missions. What are the pressures experienced by institutions with large athletic programs and how can these institutions best ensure their student athletes are treated ethically?
