ABSTRACT
The following case is a first-person narrative in which a new student affairs professional is asked to add a staff member to their team without considering a previous competitive hiring process. As you read the case, think about how you would react to such a request. Was the request unethical or is there a higher purpose that is more important? Is it more important to help the university achieve their stated goals or to develop a student team?
