Funding of Social Benefits and the Social Service System in Ukraine

In Ukraine, social service cash benefits include pensions, allowances, family allowances, and unemployment benefits, making the country’s system of social payments very similar to those maintained by other European countries. ¹ As a rule, most of these benefits are linked to the legislation of the former Soviet Union, although some kinds of allowances have been introduced in recent years, such as inflation compensations and unemployment benefits.
