ABSTRACT
John Bennett’s lifelong commitment to Ireland surfaced on many occasions. In his later years he made a major contribution to Start Strong, an advocacy organisation which, from 2009 to 2016, campaigned for high quality ECEC in Ireland. In particular, he helped to shape Start Strong’s vision for ECEC policy. Thanks in no small part to John’s support, Start Strong, in turn, made a significant contribution to ECEC policy development in Ireland.
