ABSTRACT
To most Americans, the name of Franklin Roosevelt conjures up an image of mythical proportions, an image of a man whose virtues encompassed the highest standards of statesmanship. On the other hand, to many of the older generation of Baltic and other East Europeans, mention of President Roosevelt evokes memories of the Yalta Conference, which is has become synonymous with what many view as betrayal during the final months of World War II.
