ABSTRACT
It is difficult to apply the current models of industry innovation and changes outlined in Chapter 2 to construction. Major changes have occurred in this industry, as stressed in the previous chapter, but traditional measures of innovation, such as R&D expenditures, number of patents, or workers' skill levels, are rather low and innovation seems to not be well captured by these indicators.
