ABSTRACT
Since the use of computers in almost every domain of fire safety has become so universal over the past decade, it might seem a difficult exercise to select material to feature in a volume with the above title. However, there are two areas in the use of computers which merit special attention because of their profound effects on design and analysis processes relating to almost every aspect of fire safety in general and fire protection engineering in particular.
