ABSTRACT
Death education is slowly beginning to take form as a field, while death educators and counselors are themselves so much involved in the process that they often have difficulty stepping back to observe the significance. This presentation speculates about the meaning of death education today. It takes the form of viewing the death educator as deacon and the physician as priest, and explores the interactions between the two.
