The purpose of these exercises is to help you improve your capacity for availability. This means that the goal of the exercises is to increase the number of muscles involved as you move your body (more of the muscles of the Torso-Arm, Torso-Leg and Movable-Masses). By integrating more muscle groups into your gestures, you will be able to access your natural coordination and freedom of movement. Inverse stretching is an approach to stretching that I have created for what I call the Availability Warm-Up Exercise Series. It involves using the appendicular skeleton (arms and legs) to facilitate movement potential in the axial skeleton (torso).
