ABSTRACT

This paper is part of one of the nine position papers commissioned (three each from Asia, Africa and Latin America) by the International Council for Research and Innovation (CIB) as part of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the CIB Agenda 21 on Sustainable Construction to further its proactive approach on the subject. The purpose is to bring to the forefront the special conditions, needs and perspectives of the developing countries to balance a developed world bias that had crept into an earlier effort. This paper attempts to present the Indian case.
