ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on the materials of the budget analysis of 34 village families in two settlements – stanitsa Privolnaya (Krasnodar region) and Povolgie village Danilovka (the Saratov region). In each selected family the budgets were drawn regularly in the course of one year – from September 1, 1999 till August 31, 2000. Considering the small volume of sampling, the composition of the families for analysis in each village was selected according to the existing age parameters and the level of their material well being. In addition, we attempted to represent the main professional groups, reflecting the specific structure of jobs in each village.
