ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of recent literature in the area of responsive services. Considerations for state initiatives, federal mandates, and district policy are highlighted, along with the alignment of an evidence-based model such as Response to Intervention. The procedures and appropriate processes for intervening in various crisis situations are thoroughly discussed, along with outlining the multicultural and ethical considerations.
