ABSTRACT
At the end of this chapter, readers should:
understand the role and importance of accommodation within MICE management, from winning a MICE event to programme design;
appreciate that, as MICE is part of event tourism, accommodation providers are part of a wider tapestry of tourism destination development;
explain the degree to which MICE accommodation preferences are but one element in site selection criteria for MICE events; and
empathize with the need for accommodation providers to consider room allotment policy that appeals to both MICE planners and delegates.
