ABSTRACT

Various studies document disparities among gay and bisexual men (GBM) regarding a variety of health conditions (Lick, Durso, & Johnson, 2013; Rendina et al., 2017). For instance, GBM are more likely to experience both acute and chronic health conditions (Lick et al., 2013) and are also more likely to develop cardiovascular disease as compared with heterosexual men (Caceres et al., 2017; Hatzenbuehler, McLaughlin, & Slopen, 2013). Although many risk factors are at play, GBM health disparities are likely exacerbated through exposure to stressors related to sexual orientation.
