ABSTRACT
This chapter considers the future quantity, character and location of industrial activity in the US. It begins with a look at 15 factors which may influence the scale and location of this industrial activity and then proceeds to consider two contrasting scenarios for the industrial future of the nation. This is followed by a brief concluding section. The time horizon is roughly the next two decades.
