ABSTRACT
Presented here are some thoughts on changes in information technologies and their impact on urban form. This is very difficult to assess since, as we all know, information technologies have altered drastically in the last decade and are bound to change even more in the near future. As soon as we obtain some insight into the topic, and particularly the emergent technologies, some unexpected new innovation appears and forces some rearrangement and reconceptualisation. Longer-term (10–20 year horizon) technological changes and their impacts are particularly difficult to imagine, much less predict.
