ABSTRACT
The increasing importance of communications and information technology (IT) is beginning to make a major impact on transport and communications, and on expenditures of time and money at the personal and business levels. The impacts on land use and urban form are less apparent at this stage, due to the longer time lags involved in the decision chain before action occurs on the ground.
