ABSTRACT

Over the last 17 years the School of Community Studies at Moray House College, Edinburgh has developed a programme for the professional training of social workers, and youth and community workers. This paper explains the programmes offered and how they have developed through remaining responsive to the community at large. One of the largest training schools in Great Britain, it is known as an innovative agency for training in the field of human relationships. The courses are designed to give the maximum opportunity for generic training. The students enter both courses at a three-year course entry-point or a two-year entry-point. (See Figure 9.1.)
