ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights Egyptian and Swiss perspectives on DMT, embodiment and professional situations in two different cultural contexts with regards to education, recognition, employment opportunities, and challenges regarding practice and research. The discrepancy between holding a practice of DMT in the Middle East particularly in Egypt versus holding it in Europe particularly in Switzerland will be highlighted. The link from ‘the pyramids to the alps’ originated when Radwa Elfeqi invited Iris Bräuninger to present at the XIII World Congress of Psychiatry’s first symposium on the Creative Arts Therapies in Psychiatry in Cairo 2005.
