ABSTRACT

This chapter, from France, introduces a case-based approach to transgenerational trauma and more generally nonverbal trauma narrative. The chapter summarises the work with a girl who suffers from the effects of transgenerational Holocaust trauma. The creative process as embodied in the dance experience and the issue of body-to-body transmission of the trauma is explored. The central question of emotions is linked with body memory and expressiveness. Forming body narratives is described as particularly relevant in the care of trauma patients by the author.
