ABSTRACT
It is an interesting aspect of the academic world that some scholars are able to make contributions to the field that address and focus on significant matters. Such scholars have the ability to sense what really matters or to recognize an unaddressed assumption or to identify a founding concept of some kind. Their work then attracts the attention of scholars and can form a kind of gathering point for those who are touched by those ideas. In ideal circumstances, those ideas are developed, moved forward and enriched in some way rather than taking on the form of a perfect truth only to be lauded and never critiqued.
