ABSTRACT
Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, non-profit organisation and a registered charity; it comprises a Specialist Palliative Care Inpatient unit, Specialist Palliative Care Day unit, Specialist Palliative Care Hospice-at-Home Community service, Older Persons’ Day Care and a Nursing Home. The mission statement comprises core values from ‘The Little Company of Mary’ (the founders of Milford Care Centre) of Justice, Compassion, Respect, Communication and Accountability and the aim is to provide the highest quality care both in the area of palliative care and of the older person. Milford Care Centre, integrated within Ireland’s Healthcare system, provides palliative care for the Mid-west region of Ireland encompassing the City of Limerick and County Limerick, County Clare and North Tipperary.
