ABSTRACT
I am a doctoral research faculty member in the PhD program in Creative Arts Therapies department at Drexel University. I teach research courses, advise doctoral students, write grant proposals for funded research, and manage research teams on my projects. I engage in art therapy clinical practice as part of my professional work as an educator and researcher. My research lab (drexel.edu/cnhp/research/faculty/KaimalGirija/) focuses on a range of studies on health outcomes of visual self-expression. A study we recently completed examined how arts-based approaches might help with physical and psychological well-being of caregivers of patients in home hospice care (end-of-life).
