ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter, Dr. Rohit Ramaswamy described the quality triangle, the conceptual framework used to organize this book. This triangle is shown in Figure 3.1. The three legs of the triangle are implementing standards for quality, employing the appropriate design and planning tools to prevent errors or build in quality, and monitoring and improvement to make sure that process performance is sustained and improved over time. At the center of the triangle is leadership engagement, which is the glue that binds these different aspects of the triangle together. This chapter focuses on the importance of leadership in ensuring the successful implementation of the model in the testing industry. Successful implementation of this model is dependent on the energy, focus, and commitment of leadership. Not just top management, but all leaders in the organization supporting the improvement initiative.
