ABSTRACT
Climate change, as a global and scientifically-proven phenomenon, is closely linked to local issues. This link is even more evident in developing countries, which are vulnerable to the effects of climate change while lacking the necessary means and resources for their adaptation. This paper attempts to show, by exploring the case of Morocco, and in particular, by highlighting the need to implement projects aimed at both adaptation and mitigation, that this global challenge provides important local opportunities for sustainable development. In this regard, water and energy sectors offer real possibilities for clean investment and technology transfer. By endorsing stronger ethics on domestic and global levels, there is great hope that this challenge can be met.
