This entire group - so varied in size and content - accounted in 1930 for 79 per cent of the industrial labour force (under 100 employees), and the establishments of under four employees for 58 pei cent of the total. But the latter group produced only about 25 per cent of total industrial production, which shows in turn how low the wages were.
