ABSTRACT
’Ali ’Umar al-Misri was an Egyptian educator and school administrator. He received his education in Egypt and England. In 1919 he was exiled to Rafah, Palestine, as a result of his participation in the nationalist movement against the English occupation. Upon his return to Egypt, he served as an inspector at the Ministry of Education. In the twenties, he was Secretary General of the Egyptian University (now Cairo University).
