The following reply has been received from the Birmingham board of guardians from the War-office in reply to a memorial addressed to her Majesty’ ernment, praying that some provision might be made out of the public revenues of the country for the wives and families of soldiers serving in the Crimea, with a view to prevent their becoming dependent on parochial relief:—
