ABSTRACT
The London Gazette of last night contains a royal proclamation appointing Commissioners of a Patriotic Fund for the relief of the widows and orphans of soldiers and marines engaged in the war. Local committees are to be formed, wherever practicable, with the least possible delay, and these committees will, according to their discretion obtain contributions to the Patriotic Fund, either by public meetings establishing subscription lists, or otherwise.
