ABSTRACT

The Liverpool Shipwrights’ Association have presented 50l. in aid of this fund. On Wednesday an amateur concert was held at the Wolverton station of the London and North-Western Railway Company, sustained by the employés [sic] of the Wolverton works, and part of the Harmonic Society of Newport Pagnell, in aid of the general fund for the wives and children of our gallant Troops ordered to the East on active service. The sum collected amounted to 20l., and we hope the excellent example set by this station will be followed by all the railways in the kingdom.
