Miss Nightingale and the Soldier’s Widow.—The wife of a private in the Eighty-ninth Regiment, serving in the East, not having for many months heard from her husband, wrote to Miss Nightingale, begging for information. Miss Nightingale’s admirable letter in reply should be preserved as one of the most interesting documents of the Russian war.
