ABSTRACT
Private George Greenfield served in the Light Company of the 30th Regiment of Foot. He had previously served with his regiment in Corfu and the Ionian Islands, and survived the Crimean War. His letter, unusually, was written in a beautiful copperplate hand, but whether this was his actual letter, or a copy is unclear. Again, punctuation has been added for clarity.
