Tsm George Cruse to His Wife, 1st Royal Dragoons, National Army Museum 1974– 12–76, Letters 9 and 10.

Troop Sergeant Major George Cruse served in the 1^st Dragoon Guards, and was from the Peterborough area. The letters to his wife, Lizzie, which are included here, are part of a collection of sixty-nine of his letters held at the National Army Museum. Cruse served in the Crimean War, which he survived. He later went on to become Regimental Sergeant Major and Riding Master of his regiment.
