ABSTRACT

Captain Horatio Morgan, of the War Department, and attached to the Turkish Contingent, came before Mr. Ingham. to make an explanation relating to the case of a poor woman named Susurus, the wife of a farrier in the Turkish Contingent, who complained to the magistrate on Thursday morning that, although she had her husband’s authority to draw 3s. per day while he was absent, she could not obtain payment at the War-office, at Sir Thomas Kirkland’s, No. 80, Pall-mall, to whom she had been referred, or at any other place; and that she was in consequence in a state of great destitution.
