Parliamentary involvement in the negotiations on the EU–UK trade agreement

The agreement on EU–UK relations post-Brexit will have a profound impact on businesses and lives of citizens which provides a strong rationale for ensuring a high level of democratic legitimacy of the process that leads to its conclusion. This chapter evaluates powers of parliaments both in the EU and the UK to deliver effective scrutiny of the negotiations and the future agreement.
