ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the long arc of the relation between Victorian studies and postcolonial scholarship. By surveying the influence of a few key postcolonial texts and the doubts and questions that these texts raise, the chapter also considers newer disciplinary collaborations and methodological frameworks through which the relation between Victorian literature and culture and postcolonial studies can be imagined anew in response to the critical demands of our current ecological and transnational moment.
