NATO and the Threats to Gulf Regional Security (2011–2017)

The transformations in the regional Gulf security due to the Arab Spring from 2011 and until 2017 are not short-lived or temporary. Instead, such transformations will leave deep effects for years to come. These transformations are not related to traditional security challenges. Rather, the threat endangers national unity and sovereignty of Arab Gulf States.
