My discussion of jewish philosophy will focus on three major medieval philosophers, Saadia Gaon, Judah Halevi, and Moses Maimonides. I also shall discuss one nonphilosophic book, the Zohar, the classic text of the medieval kabbalah; this strange book may be seen as a mythopoetic critique of philosophy
