ABSTRACT
I recently found a quote from Paulo Freire in one of bell hooks’s latest books that I think applies to what all liberation movements, including feminism, are about: “We cannot enter the struggle as objects in order to later become subjects” (1990, p.15). I find this thought particularly relevant when we are reflecting on the impact of racism on theories of the psychology of women.
