ABSTRACT

The twenty-three interviews in this book reflect the newest discoveries and techniques of Davanloo. They also reflect his most up to date understanding of the metapsychology of the unconscious. Interwoven in this book are several themes. First, Davanloo’s technique is one of great precision. It is hoped that the nuanced approach of “following the trail” of the unconscious has been highlighted in the preceding interviews. This is a highly attuned and empathic approach without any rote agenda. The use of challenge, if present at all, is momentary and occurs only when the resistance is firmly crystallised in the transference and the breakthrough into the unconscious is imminent.
